I’m So Glad You’re Here!

Welcome, friend! I’m Brenda Frank, and I’m so glad you found me.

Daretodownsize.com is a blog dedicated to providing ideas and inspiration for those who are living (or considering living) in a small space.

My husband Sam and I recently moved from 2200 square feet to 640 square feet. So the ideas I share are from our first-hand experiences. And since this blog is from my perspective, I’ll be including things like small space decorating ideas, storage tips, cooking and entertaining in a small space, and more.

Several years ago I realized that I don’t like large, open interior spaces. I’m sure it says something about my personality – I’m easily intimidated? Socially insecure? Easily overwhelmed? Maybe all or none of the above, but one thing is for sure: I prefer small spaces.

When we started looking at ways to get rid of our mortgage and still own our home, building a small house on our property was a no-brainer for me. It’s a way to live in a smaller space that is simpler to decorate, easier to clean and maintain. And we can still be close to our family. Besides my faith, there’s nothing more important to me.

My promise to you is that I will keep it real. We’ll explore what works and what doesn’t. And if it doesn’t work, we’ll look for solutions.

Most of all, I’m delighted to have you come along as we take this journey into a new phase of our lives. We’re excited to see where this will lead us.

And I would love to hear from you. Do you live in a small space? Or maybe that’s your dream. If so, what challenges do you have or solutions have you found? I would be delighted for you to leave a comment here. Or feel free to email me at bdfrank74@gmail.com.

    1. Hi Vicki! I definitely hear you on the sentimental stuff. I’ll talk about that in a future post. Hang with me and we’ll work through this stage of our lives together. Thank you so much for commenting.
